Idol Singer Han Geng Carries the Torch in Beijing


















On Thursday, the second day of the Beijing relay, pop idol Han Geng is the 240the torchbearer among the 268 torch bearers. After carrying the torch, Han Geng accepts interview and says: “Many fans are cheering loudly for me. I want to thank all my supporters. I am honored to be a torchbearer and I wish I can take the happiness and dream of the sacred flame to every family.”

Han Geng also tells the reporter: “Our new album has one song specially composed for Olympics. Later we want to shoot a CCTV drama series which is also an Olympics-themed TV series.”

Han Geng tells the netizens that he will take his mother to watch Liu Xiang’s game thanks to his fans who bought him Olympics games tickets.

Han Geng’s fans have always known that Han Geng like Liu Xiang so the fans bought him tickets for the semifinal and final of the track and field event. Being a filial son, Han Geng wants to take his mother to watch the game together. However, due to Han Geng’s high popularity, he makes the fur fly whenever he shows up in the airport. Han Geng says worriedly that if his appearance disturbs the game, he would rather not to watch the games.

Han Geng also reveals that fans also give him tickets for the basketball event and his mother and uncle will watch the game.

Han Geng will stay at home and watch the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics on TV. He doesn’t get the ticket for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics so he has to stay at home and watch TV. He also invites some good friends to his friends to celebrate the great ceremony. Since Han Geng has known these friends for 10 years so they have to take drinks by themselves.

Besides reporters from home and abroad, many young volunteers are also at the press conference yesterday. They come here to see Olympics torchbearer-young singer Han Geng. Many volunteers can’t help taking out the cameras and cellphones to take pictures of Han Geng during the press conference. After the press conference, many volunteers ask for Han Geng’s autographs and take photos with him.

Han Geng says that he sleeps really late the day before the torch relay and wakes up on 6 o’clock in the morning. He is in ecstasy at the thought of carrying the torch and can not sleep at all, so he sorts out his clothes and shoes fearing something may go wrong.

When he is waiting in the bus he is extremely nervous. The moment he touches the torch and especially the flame is lighted, he becomes very excited, “It looks like my blood is burning in my vein.” Han Geng says.
