Super Junior-M Sohu Interview

Super Junior-M Sohu Interview

It has been a long time since we greet Chinese fans, and our Chinese have improved a lot.

We have been promoting our third album 'Sorry Sorry' in Korea recently. We have achieved such good result and would like to thank the staff and our manager who work very hard. Super Junior-M has recorded new songs during this time and the second album will be released in later half of 2009.

Every group has its own advantages. We should learn from each other and compete with each other. Only then will we become better group and the Chinese music market become better step by step. It is a mutual learning process. Our characteristic is that we have foreign members, so we can speak English, Korean, Japanese, and Thai- I can speak Sa wa dee ka. We can learn something from every Chinese singer.

I have heard of this rumor (Han Geng will star in Chinese drama 'Chou Nv Wu Di' or 'Ugly Wudi') on the Internet. If my company confirms that they will tell me. I am participating in Super Junior's activities and the company will inform me if there is such a thing. I myself want to join these dramas.

I have heard of this rumor too (Han Geng will star in Chinese drama 'Meteor Rain'). However, when they are finding the actors, Super Junior is recording the new album. Super Junior members haven't been together and perform on stage for more than 1 year, so I think the album is more important. It is most important to stay with other members.

It is the first time Super Junior-M perform in university and it feels familiar upon entering the university. It reminds me of my time in Minzu University of China.

Thank you for your support. You have stayed with Super Junior-M for the last year and we hope to give you surprise with our next album. Wish you health. Please continue support us. We will work hard. We are Super Junior-M!

(Han Geng-related part only. The video will be out next Tuesday.)

Super Junior-M at Pepsi press conference in Hong Kong on April 28, 2009

Yesterday (April 28, 2009) Korean pop idol group Super Junior-M attends the contract signing press conference in Hong Kong. Leaded by Chinese member Han Geng, they officially become the new endorser for Pepsi and join the big brand family. They appear on blue bulldozers and radiate sunshine feeling. The leader Han Geng expresses that they wish that they can develop in movies and dramas while they release new album and enjoy rising popularity.

There are around 200 fans in blue T-shirts at the press conference. When all the 7 members appear on bulldozers, fans are screaming. The Chinese member Han Geng enjoys big fan base. Not only has he endorsed several brands, but also starred in CCTV drama ‘Qing Chun Wu Tai’ and become the hottest idol actor in China. Super Junior-M members play 7 odd instruments and sing the promotion song ‘Always Drink Pepsi for Free’ despite of the burning sun which makes them sweating.

They say that they love Pepsi very much and their official fanclub club color is also blue. They are very glad to join the endorsing family and have met with other endorsers including Show Luo and Jolin Tsai. They met Louis Koo when they were shooting the commercial and finds him nice. They are like family members.

While accepting the media interview, the wordless Han Geng in Super Junior becomes the nanny and interpreter for other members. Han Geng is just like the spokesman and natural translation machine, and he patiently tell other members (who don’t understand Chinese) reporters’ words in Korean. Han Geng smiles and says that this May Day they will be the special guest at Jackie Chan’s concert and perform at Bird’s Nest. Busy promoting in mainland China, they haven’t heard of the drug scandal in Korean showbiz industry. They say that they won’t use drug to relax. Han Geng says that he will play computer games or see movies at home to relax.

When asked about the endorsement fee for joining the Pepsi family, Han Geng says that he has no idea. Super Junior-M expressed that no matter how much the endorsement fee is, they are happy to become the spokesmen. The organizers give them the tailored gifts and Super Junior-M seems quite happy.

When talking about whether he will develop in movies and dramas, Han Geng says that he has practiced martial arts before and wishes to star in his favorite action movies and cooperate with Jackie Chan, Sun Honglei and Andy Lau.

Earlier there is a rumor saying that Super Junior-M, Vaness Wu, and Joe Chen will star in martial arts drama ‘Phantom 8 Warriors’ in April, and they deny the rumor saying that members don’t plan to star in drama now.

Super Junior-M at Spring of Changbai Mountain Love Concert

Han Geng Jinshuaiwei (JSWEI) CF

Yesterday, the most popular singer is no other than Super Junior-M. When Zhang Liyin is singing the last song, the 7 handsome guys come to one side of the stage and the fans scream at once. Fans’ scream is even louder than Zhang Liyin’s song. The singing and dancing of ‘Me’ shows the audience Super Junior-M’s strength and drives fans crazy. Some fans even wave fluorescent bas while standing on chairs. Some fans are stopped by bodyguards when they try to rush to the stage. After one song, the host interviews the 7 members briefly. Most questions are answered by the leader Han Geng. Since these Korean members have only a sketchy knowledge of Chinese, they make a mistake. When the host asks what kind of girls do Super Junior-M members like and whether they like girls from Northeast China, Siwon who roughly understands Chinese holds up his microphone and says: ‘I like, I like northeast tiger!’ The audiences explode into loud laughter. To ease Siwon’s embarrassment, Han Geng jokes in northeast dialect: ‘I like too. I like northeast kidney bean.’ His words cause a storm of laughter. Han Geng says that the northeast kidney bean is his favorite and he has never enough of that. Their lunch is chops stewed with kidney bean which is recommended by Han Geng. The other members also think it delicious.

When the 7 members appear on stage, the whole stadium is on fire. They wear suits in white or black and look more handsome. Maybe they forget themselves in their excitement, and Han Geng even ‘kisses’ Siwon when performing the second song ‘Love Song’. All the audiences are shocked and they begin shouting after that.

The moment Super Junior-M gets off plane they are surrounded by skilled fans who follow them on rented cars. Being a northeasterner, it is the second time that Han Geng and other Super Junior-M members come to Changchun. Han Geng says: ‘Although it is cold today, I like Changchun very much because Changchun is similar to my hometown.’ Han Geng has not yet said anything when the Korean members say a lot of ‘Thanks’ towards fans’ enthusiasm in not so clear Chinese. Han Geng says that the members want to thank the fans. Besides, Super Junior-M has come to Changchun twice to attend singing party, and they haven’t held a concert in Changchun. Han Geng hopes to come to Changchun with Super Junior members or Super Junior-M members to hold a concert.

The leader Han Geng and the reporter meet on the 8th floor. The other members are all very polite and greet the reporter in rough Chinese. Han Geng says that they are toughed by fans in Changchun. He briefly introduces Super Junior-M’s new album. The new album is in producing and will surprise fans when it is released.

If one is good at singing, he will begin acting, and vice versa. Such a handsome singer Han Geng is naturally noticed by directors. After Han Geng’s first idol drama ‘Qing Chun Wu Tai’ in mainland China, other Super Junior-M members are also favored by mainland drama companies.

It is said that the 36-episode magic-martial arts drama ‘Phantom 8 Warriors’ has invited Han Geng and 6 members to star in it. The crew and their talent agency have achieved preliminary agreement. This will be Super Junior-M’s first collective mainland drama. Han Geng just smiles and nods upon hearing that. As to their next step, Han Geng says their main focus is still on music and they will go on tour after the release of their new album.

Super Junior-M to Star in Drama 'Phantom 8 Warriors'

Super Junior-M Shanghai fan meeting on Feb 14, 2009

Super Junior-M will make drama debut in mainland China. The reporter has learned that Korean idol group Super Junior-M (SJ-M) will play 7 warriors in the magic martial arts drama. The producer Huang Jing says that they have made agreement with the talent agency. The drama will start shooting this spring and be aired next summer holiday.

The production crew see Super Junior-M's performance accidentally and find the 7 members meet the requirements of the roles in the drama, and Super Junior-M's gorgeous styles on stage are kind of magic. They have contacted with Super Junior-M's agency and hope that Super Junior-M could make their drama debut in it.

Lead by Chinese guy Han Geng, Super Junior-M has become the hottest Korean idol group in China after Shinhwa and TVXQ. However, Huang Jing tells the reporter that in the beginning, the talent agency has many misgivings about taking the job: firstly, Super Junior-M members have no acting experience or training except Han Geng; secondly, it is a rather big challenge for them to star in a drama speaking Chinese.

However, the 7 members are quite interested in acing in the same drama. After reading the script, the agency feels that the 7 warriors in the drama will give the 7 members more space for acting, and the changing ancient costumes will give Super Junior-M more chance in style, so the company agrees.

Huang Jing says that they are communicating quite well and the schedule has been decided. The drama will start shooting this spring and will be aired next year.

She also says that with Super Junior-M in the drama and the good script, young audience surely will like it.

Super Junior May Endorse Jiangsu TV?

Jiangsu TV has sponsored Super Junior's concert in Chengdu and won greater influence considerably. Therefore Jiangsu TV wants to continue cooperation with Super Junior. Rumor on the Internet says that Super Junior is invited to endorse Jiangsu TV. The person in charge says that 'There is no further negotiation. However, if Super Junior can endorse Jiangsu TV, then they will become regular on Jiangsu TV. We can have more shows with their joining. It will be a good try for both the stars and us.'

(Are they mental? I mean Jiangsu TV. Having a Korean group as the spokesmen is not a great idea. Why don't they choose Super Junior-M? At least there are more Chinese members in SJ-M.)
