Super Junior-M to Star in Drama 'Phantom 8 Warriors'

Super Junior-M Shanghai fan meeting on Feb 14, 2009

Super Junior-M will make drama debut in mainland China. The reporter has learned that Korean idol group Super Junior-M (SJ-M) will play 7 warriors in the magic martial arts drama. The producer Huang Jing says that they have made agreement with the talent agency. The drama will start shooting this spring and be aired next summer holiday.

The production crew see Super Junior-M's performance accidentally and find the 7 members meet the requirements of the roles in the drama, and Super Junior-M's gorgeous styles on stage are kind of magic. They have contacted with Super Junior-M's agency and hope that Super Junior-M could make their drama debut in it.

Lead by Chinese guy Han Geng, Super Junior-M has become the hottest Korean idol group in China after Shinhwa and TVXQ. However, Huang Jing tells the reporter that in the beginning, the talent agency has many misgivings about taking the job: firstly, Super Junior-M members have no acting experience or training except Han Geng; secondly, it is a rather big challenge for them to star in a drama speaking Chinese.

However, the 7 members are quite interested in acing in the same drama. After reading the script, the agency feels that the 7 warriors in the drama will give the 7 members more space for acting, and the changing ancient costumes will give Super Junior-M more chance in style, so the company agrees.

Huang Jing says that they are communicating quite well and the schedule has been decided. The drama will start shooting this spring and will be aired next year.

She also says that with Super Junior-M in the drama and the good script, young audience surely will like it.

Super Junior May Endorse Jiangsu TV?

Jiangsu TV has sponsored Super Junior's concert in Chengdu and won greater influence considerably. Therefore Jiangsu TV wants to continue cooperation with Super Junior. Rumor on the Internet says that Super Junior is invited to endorse Jiangsu TV. The person in charge says that 'There is no further negotiation. However, if Super Junior can endorse Jiangsu TV, then they will become regular on Jiangsu TV. We can have more shows with their joining. It will be a good try for both the stars and us.'

(Are they mental? I mean Jiangsu TV. Having a Korean group as the spokesmen is not a great idea. Why don't they choose Super Junior-M? At least there are more Chinese members in SJ-M.)
