Super Junior-M at Pepsi press conference in Hong Kong on April 28, 2009
Yesterday (April 28, 2009) Korean pop idol group Super Junior-M attends the contract signing press conference in Hong Kong. Leaded by Chinese member Han Geng, they officially become the new endorser for Pepsi and join the big brand family. They appear on blue bulldozers and radiate sunshine feeling. The leader Han Geng expresses that they wish that they can develop in movies and dramas while they release new album and enjoy rising popularity.
There are around 200 fans in blue T-shirts at the press conference. When all the 7 members appear on bulldozers, fans are screaming. The Chinese member Han Geng enjoys big fan base. Not only has he endorsed several brands, but also starred in CCTV drama ‘Qing Chun Wu Tai’ and become the hottest idol actor in China. Super Junior-M members play 7 odd instruments and sing the promotion song ‘Always Drink Pepsi for Free’ despite of the burning sun which makes them sweating.
They say that they love Pepsi very much and their official fanclub club color is also blue. They are very glad to join the endorsing family and have met with other endorsers including Show Luo and Jolin Tsai. They met Louis Koo when they were shooting the commercial and finds him nice. They are like family members.
While accepting the media interview, the wordless Han Geng in Super Junior becomes the nanny and interpreter for other members. Han Geng is just like the spokesman and natural translation machine, and he patiently tell other members (who don’t understand Chinese) reporters’ words in Korean. Han Geng smiles and says that this May Day they will be the special guest at Jackie Chan’s concert and perform at Bird’s Nest. Busy promoting in mainland China, they haven’t heard of the drug scandal in Korean showbiz industry. They say that they won’t use drug to relax. Han Geng says that he will play computer games or see movies at home to relax.
When asked about the endorsement fee for joining the Pepsi family, Han Geng says that he has no idea. Super Junior-M expressed that no matter how much the endorsement fee is, they are happy to become the spokesmen. The organizers give them the tailored gifts and Super Junior-M seems quite happy.
When talking about whether he will develop in movies and dramas, Han Geng says that he has practiced martial arts before and wishes to star in his favorite action movies and cooperate with Jackie Chan, Sun Honglei and Andy Lau.
Earlier there is a rumor saying that Super Junior-M, Vaness Wu, and Joe Chen will star in martial arts drama ‘Phantom 8 Warriors’ in April, and they deny the rumor saying that members don’t plan to star in drama now.
